There is an unusual scene at SDN Pasir Ipis, Jayagiri Village, Lembang District. Several Lower Secondary students from Darul Hikam Integrated School (DHIS) Secondary Lembang can be seen energetically standing in front of the class, holding markers, and sharing knowledge just like professional teachers.
This action is part of the annual program entitled "Secondary Teaching," which takes place from February 11 to 13, 2026. This unique program challenges middle school students to experience teaching firsthand while implementing an approach.Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to elementary school students.
The Principal of DHIS Secondary Lembang, Ilyas Nasruloh, explained that this activity is not just a school assignment, but a tangible manifestation ofeducationmoral values and manners that have been taught in the classroom.

"Activities like this are a manifestation of what we teachers have taught in school, especially regarding the development of children's morals and etiquette in society," said Ilyas during an interview at the event location on Thursday (February 12, 2026).

Ilyas added that, in addition to teaching English skills, students are also introduced to simple STEM concepts. The goal is to ensure that the sophistication of knowledge possessed by students in school is balanced with social awareness.

"We want to ensure that the knowledge these children acquire is also balanced by their involvement in the community. How they communicate their knowledge, socialize, interact, and learn the manners present in the pesantren environment as well as the surrounding community," he added.

"The goal of this program is to teach students how to be responsible, independent, and collaborative, and to help them understand that being a teacher is not easy," explained Enggar.

Before teaching, these junior high school students are required to prepare a Lesson Plan (RPP) and conduct micro-teaching practices within the school.

"The preparations are serious. The six groups were given time to develop lesson plans and conduct micro-teaching so that they could perform well when teaching in front of elementary school students," said Enggar.

In conclusion, Enggar expressed his highest appreciation to the students who have worked hard to get through the challenging preparation period.

"Miss Enggar wants to express her deep gratitude for your contributions. During the weeks of preparation, we understand that you may have been tired, but you have given your best. You have done an outstanding job," she concluded.
